For those of you who have Sonos speakers and understand the awesome ability to connect accounts and stream audio via your WiFi network rather than Bluetooth.
For example, when I connect my Spotify account to my Sonos One, I no longer have to worry about my phone being in range. My phone becomes the remote, not a streaming source. What does that mean? That means I can go outside, close the app, phone could die and the music still goes on!
One of the drawbacks of not having Bluetooth connectivity is that you cannot stream audio from other applications on your mobile device to your Sonos One.
Thankfully, there is an exception, for those of you using iOS devices (11.4 or higher) you are now able to stream audio using AirPlay2 just as I would have streamed or selected a Bluetooth speaker as my “output” device.By upgrading to the latest iteration of iOS should now allow you to use your phone as a streaming device with any and all iOS apps that support AirPlay2!
