Verkada Mass Hack

  • by

According to IPVM.com and based on Bloomberg reporting, cloud-based CCTV provider Verkada has suffered a mass hack that went as far as gaining root level access to the camera’s OS, theoretically allowing them to be jumping points to attack the rest of any exposed parts of the network.

The article also claims that various Verkada employees were given access to cameras without customer knowledge or consent, which is concerning given ADT’s lawsuits stemming from a recent government indictment of an ADT employee who gave himself access to many customer cameras to spy on them for years.
